Cosmo Salon Studios vs Phenix Salon Suites in Michigan
Cosmo Salon Studios vs Phenix Salon Suites in Michigan: designer-finished suites, twice the Michigan locations, lease terms, and how to compare before you sign.
Published by Cosmo Salon Studios
October 13, 2026
Cosmo Salon Studios and Phenix Salon Suites both lease private suites to independent beauty professionals in Michigan, and both include utilities, Wi-Fi, laundry and 24/7 access. Where Cosmo stands out is the space itself: every Cosmo suite comes designer-finished with millwork, a luxury light fixture and a full-length mirror, and our team helps you make the room look like your brand. Cosmo also has twice as many Michigan locations, eight across Metro Detroit and Southeast Michigan, compared with Phenix's four. Phenix lists month-to-month agreements, while Cosmo leases are for one year.
This comparison uses what each brand publishes about itself. Phenix details come from Phenix Salon Suites' own Novi and Canton, Michigan location pages, retrieved October 13, 2026. Details can change, so confirm anything that matters to you with the location before you sign.
Where Cosmo comes out ahead
A suite your clients will remember
Your suite is the first thing a client sees, and it shapes what they're willing to pay. Cosmo suites are built to feel high-end the moment you open the door. Every suite includes a design package with custom millwork, a workstation, a full-length mirror and a luxury light fixture, and hairstylists who need one get a freestanding walk-around washbowl. You move into a room that already looks finished, then make it yours.
Help making the space your own
Cosmo supports suite personalization, so your room reflects your brand rather than a template. Alongside the space you get education, mentorship and marketing support, and property maintenance is handled for you.
Amenities that make the day easier
The practical details matter too. Every Cosmo location has commercial-grade washers and dryers on site, 24/7 keypad access, and exterior and doorway cameras recording around the clock. On-site parking is available at most locations, and there's no extra charge to share your suite with another professional.
More of Michigan covered
Cosmo has eight open locations across Metro Detroit and Southeast Michigan, from Ann Arbor to Troy, with Macomb opening in 2027. Phenix lists four Michigan locations, one of them in Grand Rapids. More locations means a better chance of a suite close to the clients you already have.

When Phenix might fit
Phenix lists month-to-month agreements and professional liability insurance, and it has a Grand Rapids location. If those are your top priorities, it's worth a look. If you want a finished, personalized space close to your Metro Detroit clients and a team that helps you grow, Cosmo is built for you.
How much does Phenix Salon Suites cost in Michigan?
Phenix doesn't list suite prices on its Michigan location pages. Its pages ask you to contact the location to learn about move-in specials, availability and pricing. Cosmo works the same way: rates and deposits vary by location and suite, and our leasing team will walk you through them on a tour.
When you compare quotes, compare the whole package rather than the rent alone: lease length, how finished the suite is when you move in, what equipment comes with it, and what you would still buy yourself. Our salon suite cost comparison covers what to add up.

Month-to-month or a one-year lease?
A month-to-month agreement gives you room to leave quickly. A one-year lease gives you a fixed home for your clients and your brand, and it makes it worth investing in a suite you've personalized. Cosmo leases are for one year, and every suite includes a design package so it looks like your business from the first day.

See the difference in person
The best way to compare is to walk through both. Look at the finishes, the light and how the room will feel to your clients, then ask each the same questions about lease terms and what's included. We think the space will speak for itself. Book your private tour of a Cosmo Salon Studios suite.
